Scrapbooks, include: v. 1, 1893-1920, with illustrated programs, advertisements, and broadsides of the minstrel shows and companies, and opera houses Clark appeared in throughout the U.S.; v. 2, 1899-1939, with newspaper clippings concerning his performances, minstrel companies and shows, other minstrel performers or company owners, his visits and performances in Grand Rapids, brief clippings on his parents and membership in the Grand Rapids Elk Lodge No. 48; v. 3, undated, ca. 1925, with newspaper clippings of his humorous column in the Creston News (Grand Rapids, Mich.) entitled "Doc Gravy's Dope". V. 2-3 are in ledger-style books. V. 1 has a red, marbled cover. All the clippings and most of the pages are acidic.

Clark was the son of Julia and Edward J. Clark, editor and printer of Grand Rapids, and the grandson of Merrills H. Clark, owner of the Grand Rapids Democrat. He was also the grandson of E.R. Huntley, once one of the wealthiest people in Grand Rapids. Clark was a top ranking minstrel performer for 20 years before he retired. During his career, he traveled throughout the U.S. and worked with the Hi Henry's, Al G. Field's, Wm. H. West's, Crawford Bros.', Nell O'Brien's, Billy Clark's and Geo. B. R...
